Michael Sadler
Michael Sadler is a senior Indigenous executive leader with more than 25 years of experience advancing First Nations housing, infrastructure, employment, education, and social development initiatives across British Columbia and nationally. He brings deep expertise in Indigenous governance, policy reform, reconciliation strategy, organizational transformation, distinction-based funding models, strategic partnerships, and multi-milliondollar program oversight.
Michael has served as Executive Director of the First Nations Housing and Infrastructure Council, where he provided executive leadership to advance selfdetermined First Nations housing systems, sector capacity, funding advocacy, and long-term sustainability. His work has included advancing national transfer discussions under Indigenous Services Canada’s Housing and Infrastructure Transfer Policy, contributing to national policy discussions on closing the infrastructure gap, and supporting the development of First Nations asset management, maintenance training, and housing management capacity initiatives.
Previously, Michael served as Director, Indigenous Relations with BC Housing, where he led Indigenous engagement and reconciliation initiatives, developed and implemented BC Housing’s Reconciliation Strategy, supported Indigenous-focused funding program development, and contributed to major housing programs including the Indigenous Housing Fund, Supportive Housing Fund, Transition Housing Fund, and Community Housing Fund. He has also held leadership roles with the First Nations Health Authority, First Nations Social Development Society, and First Nations Employment Society.
